Old Boys Assoc supports CBHS International students trip to Hanmer Springs 2021.

During an executive meeting of the association earlier in the year it was mentioned during conversation that due to COVID19 our international students at CBHS had not been home for 18 months and many had had to make do with Zoom, Skype etc to maintain that connection and they where struggling.

This hit a note with the Exec and it was proposed that we give the International Students a day away, to have some fun and a mental break. 

The wheels were put into motion and with the help of the Headmaster and Carl Everett a date decided and the boys notified. But as are the times we had one small hiccup occur. Covid lockdown, so we took a step back, then it was exam time and all that work through the year needed to be completed.

Finally it was booked for the 16th of November and we arranged for the The Hanmer Springs Thermal Hot Pools to entertain the guys for a day, give them lunch and keep them busy and Bentleys Coaches to take them up for the day.

Living close to the Hanmer area, our Secretary, Chris Carthy made the point of meeting the busload of students and a handful of parents Fen Yuan, Hajung Lee and  Sorcha O’Malley who came along with Carl for the day and help keep an eye on the guys.

On behalf of the Association Chris said a few words then got out of their way as they headed into the pools for the day leaving them in capable hands. Going by the photos received they ate well and had a great the day.

Following the day, Carl emailed to let us know the boys had a great time and how well it was received and expressed a thank you to the Association for a wonderful day out.

The Association would also like to thank Bentleys Coaches who did us a great deal on the coach and to the Hanmer Springs team for looking after the guys at lunch and for being so easy to work with.
